Dr Faye Alexandrakis has always been fascinated with and inspired by the complexity of the human body, and her keen interest in physical movement and posture was what ultimately led her to become a chiropractor. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in ----(year) from Northwestern Health Science University.
Over the years, her chiropractic expertise has grown beyond the traditional joint and spinal manipulation to also encompass gentle chiropractic adjusting techniques, soft tissue manipulation (including myofascial cupping and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization), postural training, ergonomics, and well-substantiated mind-body therapies such as biofeedback and craniosacral therapy.
In her current role as a staff doctor at TrueNorth Health Center, Dr. Alexandrakis enjoys helping her patients develop their own personal kinesthetic awareness and learn to move pain-free, with poise and ease, the way their bodies were designed to function. She is continually amazed by the variety of positive results that her patients experience when she helps them free their bodies from erroneous patterns of 'holding' that are no longer useful.
Dr Alexandrakis has also had a lifelong interest in the science of therapeutic fasting. At the age of 16, she discovered the potential benefits of fasting by reading Paul Bragg's The Miracle of Fasting. The science presented in the book made so much sense to her that it inspired her to find a way to help people heal themselves through fasting. Today, she routinely works with patients who are fasting at TrueNorth Health Center and finds it very rewarding to watch the various types of healing that they experience through the fasting process.
Dr. Alexandrakis has also contributed to the research efforts of the TrueNorth Health Foundation, including participating as a co-author on a study on water-only fasting and an exclusively whole-plant-food diet in the resolution of seborrheic keratosis.
In her spare time, Dr. Alexandrakis enjoys being out in nature. She loves camping and hiking, especially in the mountains, with California’s Sierra Nevada being one of her favorite places.
